So what about RAZBAM's BO-105?

Probably the quietest development of a DCS chopper, the BO-105 has been through a lot of ups and downs. We have yet to see a functional module, but Razbam keeps working on this project and posting some screens of the cockpit (this time textured which is a slight improvement on all the previous 3D models we have been provided with so far).

Also, a short communication on their Discord channel appears to confirm the module will be multicrew.

OH-58D: F-16 Update breaks MFD!

Good job from ED with the last patch where the update for the F-16 turned out to break the TV symbology on the gazelle as well as the MFDs on the OH-58. This could cause a delay for the Kiowa since it basically stopped all testing and further development at Polychop until they understand what ED actually did. Being a 3rd party AND developing helicopters only is probably not helping coming at the top of ED's priority list.

DCS Helicopter update

It's rare enough to have some updates related to rotaries in ED newsletter, so even if there is nothing really new, it's good to know their projects still have a pulse. We got some new Ka-50 3D redesign shots here with a bit more textures than previously, and more Mi24 3D renderings.

SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER IS AVAILABLE

Here we are BSD fans, back to school for another amazing season of MP flights. We actually got an early start thanks to a large influx of talented newcomers eager to learn and fly. With new mission designers, talented scripters and half a dozen real life helicopter pilots in the squad, BSD is becoming a fantastic place for all the crazy rotorheads to learn the art of flying a very reluctant machine (very) low and slow. Thank you to all the members who actively participate in this great adventure and I hope this season we will have even  more fun to fly together.

NADIR Training sessions

Our pilot Drakoz demonstrated his masterly ability to tactically fly the gazelle and use all the capabilities of the NADIR to make this small chopper a deadly weapon, and he was kind enough to share that with the BSD pilots during our last training session.

Viper39 just released to the public his fantastic flight planning tool on www.combatflite.com. If you are serious in mission planning and mission design, this is the way to go. BlackSharkDen already published several reviews of the closed Beta versions and we are very excited about this amazing tool.

VR: Pimax 5K, 5K+ and 8K for this month?

According to an interview of PIMAX CEO on MRTV's Youtube channel, Pimax VR headsets should be delivered to backers by the end of September. A Pimax 5K+ was also announced with an increased pixel density compared to the Pimax 5K. 5K backers will receive the 5K+. With the new 2080 and 2080Ti graphic cards arriving end of the month, it will be an interesting time for face huggers on DCS with finally readable gauges.

Viper39 announced today that his incredible software Combat Flite, that BSD was close beta testing for a few months now is about to get released!! Even better, he decided to make it free! Do not hesitate to get your hands on this gem as soon as it is released. This will change the way briefings and flight planning are done in DCS forever.

NS 430 Navigation System for Mi-8MTV2 Video

DCS NS430 Navigation System module

The Garmin GNS430 is now available for the Mi-8 at the price of $15 (which is much more reasonable that the RL version at $7,000 ). The NS430 features not only a WAAS GPS Moving Map, but also radio communication and radio navigation system. Integration so far looks pretty neat. A new toy to play with, in probably the best DCS chopper yet.

New cargo objects added

I haven't tested this myself yet (let's do this in tonight's flight), but it looks like some of the Upuaut's mod objects made it to the game with the last update.
